About Us

David and Will founded Maive to bring the power of AI to small businesses across America, starting with roofers who deal with insurance work.

Before Maive, they built the AI "brain" for robots at the unicorn robotics startup Dexterity. On their hour-long commutes in David's Ford Maverick pickup, the truck that inspired Maive's name, they dreamed up a way to use AI to solve real-world problems for hardworking business owners.

After receiving funding from Y Combinator, they left their jobs and took the leap into entrepreneurship just two weeks later. With graduate degrees in AI from UC Berkeley and UT Austin, and a decade-long friendship that started as college roommates, they're building Maive with a shared goal to help contractors across America.
